Medivet Southwark is part of the Medivet group (a corporate veterinary provider). The practice offers 15‑minute consultations and has on-site diagnostics (in‑house laboratory, X‑rays and ultrasound), with dentistry also listed. Out-of-hours care is handled by another Medivet 24‑hour site, and the website states there’s no charge for assessment by phone (with an out-of-hours consult fee of £130).
From the latest reviews, owners often describe calm, well-managed appointments and vets taking time to explain ongoing problems (including seizures and multi-condition care in an elderly dog). However, two recent 1‑star reviews describe serious concerns around communication and follow‑up (e.g., owners saying promised call-backs didn’t happen and delays around an urgent referral), in contrast to other reviews praising support during emergencies.
Based on the clinic website summary and recent reviews, services mentioned include
Out of hours: The website states out-of-hours care is provided by Medivet 24 Hour Camberwell, with no charge for assessment by phone and an out-of-hours consult fee of £130.
Some reviews praise timely, supportive communication; two recent negative reviews describe the opposite (owners reporting difficulties getting updates on blood tests/medications and not receiving promised call-backs).

From reception through to the consultation, everything felt calm and well managed. The staff were patient and clear, which really helped put both me and my pet at ease. A solid local veterinary practice.

''We refer cats with urgent status if their condition is like they are gonna pass away'' One of the vet told us, when we want a little bit professionalism from her. Funny truth, our cat passed away after 3 days.. It's hard to explain all the process we went through. I can't recommend this practice because they don't care about our beloved ones, behaving unethical and unprofessional. One of the huge problem is communication, it was awful, if you want to receive an information about your blood test or medication, literally you need to cry on the phone or yell at them.. Their vets are not responsible, they say ''we will call you that day but they never call!'' Imagine that you have a pet who was 10 years old and you went to a new vet in a new country, so they don't know anything about your pet. Before starting medication treatment 'stereoids', your vet didn't do any tests to understand his health (organ functions or vitals) and they prescribe you 4 months stereoids without any follow up tests or calls. And suddenly different health conditions occur and you lost your pet without any known condition.. MRI was urgent but it took 4 days to be referred to the hospital (just for the referral -we called multiple times to understand if they referred us or not). I called the vet practice in the morning our cat passed away and told them '' Can I get his history?''. (We waited days to see a blood test result and called them multiple times but we couldn't wait anymore) They understood that we were not happy about anything and we would change our vet practice. But they didn't know that our cat passed away.. that's another problem because we couldn't have time for to take any different action due to them. The same day after two hours from that call with the practice, I got a call from the hospital because someone called them and requested for an urgent appoinment. It's not about one vet did something, it's a total vet practice problem including everyone there. Starting from the vets to other employees.. TOTAL DISASTER! ''My son had been using asthma related steroids for about four months and was a patient at this clinic. When a swelling appeared on one of his paws, we went to the clinic. After the examination, we were told there was no fracture or dislocation. Since there was no fracture and it could be an allergic reaction, they doubled the steroid dose and advised us to observe for a few days. That’s exactly when everything started. Two days later, the other paw which wasn’t swollen, became completely immobile. During the follow up, we were told that there might be a nerve issue and an MRI was needed. When we asked whether the steroids could have caused this, we were told, “this is not an expected outcome.” Instead, the steroid dose was reduced and they adopted a “wait and watch” approach. No tests were done and no further action was taken. The observation period was extended for about a week. We called the clinic every two days to report the situation, but the doctors did not communicate with us. The staff who answered the phone said, “the doctor will call you,” but they never did. Can this be considered acceptable when a physical limb loss is occurring? I’ll leave that for you to decide! There are many more instances of negligence, unethical behavior and lack of follow up that I haven’t even described. We are talking about a group that does not realize when a patient is lost and does not take responsibility in emergency situations.''

Stay away from this clinic! This is a warning post. Why? So that you don’t lose your pet suddenly, for no apparent reason, like we did. My son had been using asthma related steroids for about four months and was a patient at this clinic. Can this be considered acceptable when a physical limb loss is occurring? I’ll leave that for you to decide! There are many more instances of negligence, unethical behavior and lack of follow up that I haven’t even described. We are talking about a group that does not realize when a patient is lost and does not take responsibility in emergency situations. My only wish is that other pet owners do not experience the same painful ordeal. Please please keep your beloved pets away from these irresponsible people who operate under the title of veterinarian!!

My cat, Marmalade, has been having seizures and was cared for by Dr. Tara and Lisa at reception. Dr. Tara has been so caring and gentle with Marmalade, always taking the time to explain what’s going on and making sure she’s comfortable. Lisa has also been really kind and supportive throughout. I’m very grateful for the care and understanding they’ve both shown during a difficult time.

My girl had a sudden heart attack one day. Only Medivet accepted her for an emergency treatment even though i have never registered there before. Lisa was so super helpful and Dr. Tara was so caring and tried so hard to save her. I can't express how thankful i am for their help and support. Even though my girl couldn't be saved in the end, but I'm thankful.

Dr Lidia was fantastic with Fudge, showing genuine care and compassion for her recovery. She carried out important checks to ensure there was no lingering infection and after her antibiotics and took the time to explain everything clearly. She also emptied and treated an inflamed anal gland for Fudge, which was much appreciated. Debbie, the nurse practitioner, has also been wonderful, providing follow-up support and kindness throughout this difficult period. Thank you to the Medivet team for your professional, caring approach and for making sure Fudge gets the best possible care.

The team at Medivet were absolutely amazing and took such good care of my cat, Panda. They were all extremely kind, during an otherwise scary and stressful time, and really helped put me at ease. I'm very grateful to the team and would recommend this practice to anyone with fur babies. Special shout out to Lisa and Giuseppe who really took care of us. :) Note if you're not local - there is no onsite parking at this practice but I never had trouble parking on nearby roads using payment apps.

Fantastic support in assisting me to manage my elderly dog with her increasing number of medical conditions. Tara is so patient in answering all my questions and gives me the confidence to look after Tatty well. Also need to mention the helpful staff at reception, particularly Lisa, who help me sort out any issues with medication and appointments
