I moved from the Neighbourhood Vet after 11 years because I found their new payment policy objectionable: overbearing, hectoring and menacing, esp in my personal circumstances (tied up with hospital visits for blood transfusions), even though they were putting the claim through insurance. I objected to being harassed in hospital, and being told in front of a packed waiting room that they 'insisted' on payment there and then because we'd completed an insurance form incorrectly. We had been with TNV since Albert was a pup, we'd always paid and they had made significant money from us over the years. It was insulting. We've moved to a small, friendly practice (Peckham Vets) which reminds me of what TNV used to be like before they sold to a global vets practice and before Simon Knowles left....just as knowledgeable but friendly, relaxed, too. Also, just discovered that they charge less for prescriptions, and will write more repeats for that fee, meaning I don't have to return more often for more prescriptions. V smooth and easy.

Dreadful. So many things wrong with this practice. Theres a receptionist there who ignored is completely for 10 minutes. She was on the phone when we arrived but after completing the call she ignored us choosing to chat with a colleague. Our dogs back legs were paralysed due to a slipped disc something we knew was likely to be the case. She's a dachsund. We had to be referred to a specialist. Vet barely looked at her but they charged us £110 for the phone call. They gave us children's paracetamol which they charged almost £60 for when we discovered it was over the counter medicine at no more than £13 online. It took them 10 months after my dogs operation for them to call about referring her for physio (she'd already been attending hydrotherapy that we arranged) it had taken them that long to check back on her. They have never been interested in the care of our pet only the money she generates. They are uninterested, indifferent and clearly in completely the wrong profession To sum up - avoid this practice like the plague. The Neighbourhood vet made its name from being featured in a children's tv documentary series. It seems they played up to the cameras but in reality are a flop as a decent trustworthy carer for you pets.

Used to be very good but since it was taken over by IVC Evidensia (owned primarily by Private Equity firm EQT) has gone downhill, they overdosed by cat with steroids I moved to another vet and my cat made a significant recovery. Eventually she passed away and although she was no longer registered with the Neighbourhood Vet they continued to contact me about her. Avoid

Obviously you expect excellent medical care; and the Neighbourhood Vet team do that. But the real stars are front and back of house. The reception team are always organised and on top of things. And the insurance specialists have always made life simple with pre-auths. You always feel like you’re in competent and proactive hands. Superb team.

If you are seeking the best clinic for treatment of your pets, you would be hard pressed to find another with standards of excellence like these. I always am amazed by their service provision, follow ups and professional support and service.

We had a rescue cat with complex health issues, and thanks to the hard work and dedication of the whole team at the Neighbourhood Vet, we got to have five wonderful years with our beautiful boy. We felt so supported right up to the end and beyond. Would recommend to any pet owner in the area.
